FAQs

(My partner modeling “It was all a dream” from Queer As In)

Do you have a physical store I can visit?

Not currently. Queer As In operates online, though you’ll find me at select markets and events throughout the year, primarily in the Reno-Tahoe area. At markets, you can see products in person, check out sizing and quality, and place your order directly with me—but since I don’t keep physical inventory, you’re still ordering online and your items will ship to you just like any other order. The advantage is that you can ask questions and get help with sizing face-to-face. Keep an eye on our social media for upcoming market dates.

How long will it take to get my order?

Since everything is made to order rather than pulled from existing stock, your items are produced specifically for you after you place your order. Most orders ship within 5-7 business days of purchase, though during busy periods like sales or holidays this timeline can extend a bit.

Once your order ships, delivery typically takes another 3-7 business days depending on your location. You’ll receive a tracking number via email as soon as your order ships so you can follow its progress. This made-to-order approach means less waste and ensures you’re getting exactly what you ordered, but it does require a little patience compared to instant-ship retailers.

What’s your return and exchange policy?

All sales are final unless your item arrives damaged or defective. If something shows up broken, misprinted, or otherwise not what it should be, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos showing the issue and we’ll send you a replacement. Since everything is made to order specifically for you and we don’t keep physical inventory, we can’t accept returns for sizing issues, buyer’s remorse, or “I changed my mind” situations. Please check sizing information carefully before ordering and reach out with any questions beforehand. We’d rather spend time helping you order the right thing up front than disappoint you on the back end.

How do I know what size to order?

Sizing can be tricky, especially since different product lines fit differently. Each product page includes specific sizing information, and when available, we note whether items run fitted, small, large, or true to size. Most of our tees are unisex sizing, which typically means they’re cut more generously than traditional women’s sizes. If you’re between sizes or unsure, we generally recommend sizing up for a more relaxed fit.

Since we can’t accept returns for sizing issues, it’s worth taking a minute to double-check measurements before you order. And if you have specific questions about a particular item, reach out before ordering — we’d rather help you get it right the first time than have you stuck with something that doesn’t fit. If you don’t see your size available, please email colorcraftbymk@gmail.com.

Who designs these, and can I use them for my own stuff?

Every design you see here is original work created in-house by me, MK Arch. That means I conceptualize it, design it, and decide what goes into production. All designs are copyrighted and owned by Queer As In, so while you’re obviously welcome to wear, display, and enjoy what you purchase, you can’t reproduce the designs, use them commercially, or claim them as your own work.

If you’re interested in collaboration, licensing, or have questions about how you can use purchased items in your own projects, reach out directly and we can talk about what’s possible.

Where does the money go?

When you purchase from Queer As In, you’re directly supporting me — a disabled genderqueer artist — and helping fund mutual aid efforts in and around Northern Nevada. This isn’t a side hustle or rainbow capitalism by a corporation or a dropshipping scheme run by someone who’s never even seen the products. Your purchase helps pay my bills, supports my family, and contributes to community care work that keeps people housed, fed, and safe. Every order matters, and I don’t take that support lightly.

Can I order in bulk for my organization, event, or store?

Yes, bulk orders are possible for quantities of ten or more of a single item. If you’re interested in carrying Queer As In products in your store, ordering for your organization, creating a custom design for your business, or outfitting your crew for an event, email colorcraftbymk@gmail.com with details about what you need, your timeline, and your estimated quantity. We’ll work out pricing and production scheduling from there.

Keep in mind that larger orders require more lead time for production, so reach out as early as you can to make sure we can meet your deadline.

How should I care for my items to make them last?

For apparel with screen-printed or heat-transferred designs, turn items inside out before washing, use cold water, and skip the fabric softener (it can break down the adhesive in transfers over time). Hang dry or tumble dry on low heat to prevent cracking or fading.

For embroidered items like hats, spot clean when possible and hand wash if needed. Stickers are weather-resistant and durable for outdoor use on water bottles, laptops, and bumpers, but they’ll last longest on clean, dry surfaces. Basically, treat your stuff with a little care and it’ll keep making its statement for years.

I’m having trouble with my order or the website. How do I get help?

If something’s not working right — whether it’s a technical issue with the site, a problem with your order, or a question we haven’t answered here — email colorcraftbymk@gmail.com. We typically respond within 24-48 hours during business days. The more details you can provide (order number, specific issue, screenshots if relevant), the faster we can help you sort it out.
